Our Story
The Everhart Story
In 1990, together, Kenny and Dixie Gottfried retired from a life of farming and began transforming overgrown acreage to the seven-acre beautifully-landscaped area that exists today.
In 1995, the Gottfried’s contracted the building of the White Cedar Log Home, and the couple moved in that fall. Over the years they developed additional flower beds with the lake area. Although Dixie left us in 2005, the surrounding area that she enjoyed so much was dedicated as a memorial park for others to continue to enjoy.
Kenny began sharing the grounds with others, and in the next five years, the park had a steady stream of groups coming to the flowers, sitting on the porch, and watching the birds. Over time, private weddings were held on the grounds including his grandson, Wade to his wife Chelsea.
Kenny passed away in 2020 after contracting Covid, but his and Dixie’s memory lives on through Everhart Gathering Place and we are so happy to continue the love that started the venue will forever be continued.
